A highlight of our stay at Borgo, was a day out with Gusto Wine Tours, based in Montefalco.

We had a great day out with them, we went to 3 different Cantinas, small family run wineries. Had wine tastings at each, 7 wines per Cantina plus a magnificent lunch after the second tasting at a wonderful location called Agriturismo Camiano Piccolo. (Very simialar to Borgo).

I will follow with photos from the 3 cantinas along with the lunch in the next few posts.

Our Last Dinner @ Borgo
This was our final dinner at Borgo di Carpiano. Yet another sensational meal.
Our last day, if I'm not mistaken we had lunch there too, down by the pool. They put together this wonderful mixed platter for us.

Food @ Borgo di Carpiano
At the Borgo the food is sensational. It's bed and breakfast and afternoon tea. Lunch and dinner is also available too. As the Borgo is deep in the countryside, I think it's best to have dinner there, we had lunch once and dinner on four occasions. It's a great price too at 30 Euros per person for a 4 course spectacular. Photos below of the breakfast area and dinner on the first night.
While we were in Umbria and later Tuscany never really came across any seafood on the menus. At Borgo, Ricardo uses a lot of local farm reared pork, so very tender indeed.
The first night's dinner at Borgo.
All washed down with an excellent bottle of Montefalco Sagrantino. How about the aireator on the bottle ? I got 3 of them. Great for Red Wine to help it breathe and oxyginate quickly.
Day 2 to follow on the next post.
