After the visit to the abbey in the morning we carried on the back road to Sant' Angello in Colle. What a wonderful small hamlet/town. Really picturesque so so pretty and what a fantastic lunch we had there. I will break it up into 3 posts my fascination for doors, the town then the lunch . Enjoy.
9 front doors, I love them.

The Abbey at Sant' Antimo
Some more photos around the abbey and the area. Enjoy !
Our nifty little car hire, ideal for the two of us. I used the following car hire company. Got a very good rate too.

The Abbey at Sant' Antimo
Spent our last full day in Montalcino at The Abbey at Sant' Antimo. The weather was beautiful and just a 15 minute drive away. After spending some time there we then went on to a spectacular lunch close by in Sant' Angelo in Colle. More on that lunch later.
The small town of Castelnuovo dell' Abate, overlooking the abbey.

San Quirico d' Orcia
After leaving Pienza, we stopped off on the way back to Montalcino at San Quirico d' Orcia. Another delightful small walled town, flat too for walking.
Pienza
Had a drive from Montalcino to Pienza, about 25 minutes away. Lovely place, flat not hilly like Montalcino. Home of the famous Pecorino Cheese. Some photos for your pleasure. Enjoy !
